Dear PAWS Family of supporters,
Over the past couple of weeks, the coronavirus pandemic has greatly affected all of our lives in some type of capacity. I recognize that this is a challenging time and I want to assure you that P.A.W.S .  will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our employees, adopters and the animals in our care. We want to stress there is no current evidence that suggests the coronavirus can be transmitted to or from companion animals. Honestly if you are going to be socially disconnecting at home this would be a great time to add a new canine or feline to your family. You will have lots of time to spend with them and train them while you are at home. It might just be what you need to keep from going stir crazy and another great benefit is that they will give you lots of great company.
Sadly, we have had to close the Thrift Store temporarily in order to keep our staff and community safe. The Thrift Store brings in over 70% of our overall revenue and is how we keep the shelter doors open at P.A.W.S. These are definitely trying times for us at P.A.W.S.

As of March 23rd we have also had to restrict visits to the shelter and ask that visitors call and make an appointment before coming up to the shelter.
Although we are limiting services in some capacity, the work doesn’t stop. As we see things in our small town come to a stand still one thing that does not stop or slow down is the animals that need our help. There are still animals in our care who will continue to receive the same level of service from our dedicated staff and we will still be helping the abandoned, abused, neglected and stray animals in our community.
We will also continue to provide food for families that might find themselves on hard times during this pandemic.
As we shift our resources to account for these changes, I'd like to thank our donors who continually support the lifesaving work we do. We can only be prepared for emergency situations like this with the help of dedicated supporters like you.
But times now are uncertain, and we’re unsure of what tomorrow will bring. Please give a gift today to help animals in need. Help us remain prepared for the unknown and ensure our ability to continue to swiftly and smoothly help vulnerable animals who depend on us.
Your gifted donation can be mailed to PAWS PO Box Bryson City, NC 28713 or by going to our website http://pawsbrysoncity.org and clicking on the donate button.
